Capitol Day is back and all are welcome! Join us in Lansing on Thursday, April 30, 2026 for our second annual Capitol Day, hosted by the HBAM Young Professionals Committee. This event is designed to help members understand HBAM's advocacy work and make their voices heard by the lawmakers impacting housing policy in our state.
SCHEDULE AT A GLANCE
- 9:00 AM – Optional Michigan Capitol tour (meet at Heritage Hall)
- 10:15 AM–2:00 PM– Core program at the Mackinac Room (House Office Building), including:
- Code, Legislative & Advocacy Update + Q&A with Dawn Crandall (new this year)
- Regional advocacy booths with structured face time with legislators (new this year)
- Lunch + an open panel discussion on key housing issues, including the housing reform bill package
- 2:00 PM – Happy hour at Midtown Brewing Company (first drink included)
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?
Housing policy is moving quickly this session and HBAM needs members engaged and informed. Capitol Day is a practical way to learn what’s happening, build relationships and add your voice to the conversation.
Registration is $30 and includes lunch and your first drink at happy hour.
